The Aleuts make to leave despite Chowig's warning. Chowing steps in the way of one of the Aleuts carrying pelts back to the ship, and a skirmish breaks out. Many of the villagers are killed, and the Aleuts escape back to their ship, leaving the chest and a few of the remaining otter pelts on the beach. Karana's father is killed in the battle, and she and the other villagers agree that it was because Chowig told Orlov his secret name that he was unable to properly defend himself and was killed.

Survival
Karana, a Native American girl, is accidentally left alone when her people abandon their island home off the coast of California. After a failed attempt to leave the island in a leaky canoe, Karana decides to build a house and learn to hunt while waiting to be rescued. Her isolation from humans teaches her how to co-exist peacefully with the local wildlife, even the wild dog she considers her worst enemy. After many years, missionaries come to the island, and Karana, yearning for human companionship, goes with them to the mainland. A fictional reconstruction of a true story, Island of the Blue Dolphins depicts a character whose courage and determination help her survive against nearly impossible odds.

Moral Development
When Karana is first left alone on the island, her moral ideology is more or less identical to that of her people. As the story progresses, however, Karana develops her own moral code. The laws of Karana's tribe forbid women from making weapons, a fact that Karana struggles with constantly as she pits superstition against necessity. The first time she makes weapons, she is very fearful; the second time she is less fearful but still nervous; the third time, when she makes the spear to catch the devilfish, she does so without any misgivings. Indeed, she makes that spear almost as a hobby, for catching devilfish is not a necessity. Another way in which Karana departs from her tribe's rituals is through her friendship with Tutok. After the incident with Captain Orlov, the people of Ghalas-at become the sworn enemies of the Aleuts. Karana, however, gives Tutok a chance, even though she is an Aleut and potentially very dangerous.
Eventually, Karana eve learns to trust someone she had formerly considered an enemy. A final way in which Karana divulges from the ideology of her people is her decision not to kill any more animals. Hunting and killing animals was a necessary part of her tribe's economy, but Karana no longer wishes to kill animals because she sees them as very much like people. Karana admits that her friends and family would likely find her decision that animals are like people amusing, but she has come to it through her own experience sticks by it.

Theme: Moral delopment
In the third hapter, Karana was worried that the hunters will kill all the otters. She treats the otters as her own friend. Karana once told her father that there was scarcely a dozen otters left in the beds around coral cove but her father laughed at her foolishess and said many still live in other places around the island. But karana's father was concerned that the hunters will leave without paying. In chapter 8, Ramo left the hut and was found dead the next day. The wild dogs have killed her brother and she followed the dogs to thier cave to seek ravenge upon her brother's death. In chapter 15, Karana shows compassion and love for animals. She have stopped killing the dogs. Once she found a wounded leader, she brought it home and nurse it. After 4 days of nursing the dog, she names it Rontu. In chapter 19, theres one part which Rontu was grabbed by the tentacles of the devilfish and Karana saved Rontu. This shows that Karana have changed into a compassionate and caring person towards animals. In chapter 24, Karana said that she will not kil another animal because she made them her friends. This really shows the change of sttitude Karana have for the animals.

Theme :Trust (Caiyi )
Trust is a relationship of reliance. Karana's father told the Aleuts his real name . This show the trust he given to them. Chief Chowig trust the Aluets and believe that they were share the catch. But however, the Aluets did not keep their promise and even kill Chief Chowig. When the Aluets were coming to catch the catch, Karana's tribe spy on them. This show that they did not trust each other. The dog that had killed his brother, Ramo, was injured. But Karana never left in there to death but she nurse it and took very good care of it. This is the trust that Karana show despite being trick and betrayed the trust by the Aluets. It took her courage to trust other people again.

theme(trust)
The case of Tutok is the most important of these because it shows the development of Karana's trust in more detail and to a deeper extent. In the case of Tutok, Karana is mistrustful because Tutok is an Aleut. She has seen with her own eyes what happened. Tutok have ever tried to make friendly gestures, Karana is aloof and assumes that Tutok will betray her to the Aleut hunters. It takes a long time for Karana to see that Tutok has no ill intent, but it is some time before Karana makes a gesture of trust on her own. When Karana reveals her secret name to Tutok, it is her ultimate sign of trust, for she ascribed her father's death to his decision to reveal his secret name to someone not worthy of trust. After developing her trust, she was rewarded a relationship that she won't forget. (In Chapter 1 Karana's father told the Aleuts his real name without hesitation.)

forgiveness ;
After Ramo is killed, Karana was left alone on Ghalas-at.
She was lonely and has many enemies. She was attacked by wild dogs
almost everyday. In each case she has the opportunity to take her revenge, but does'nt. Island of Blue Dolphins-Chapter 8(connecter-lavanes)
1. 'I am the son of Chowig,' he said again, and as he spoke his eyes suddenly grew large. 'I am his son and since now he is dead I have taken his place. I am now Chief of Galas-at. All my wishes must be obeyed.'
Connector: It is true even in real life in certain countries such as Brunei which have kings or queens ruling the country give their position to their child if not a competition or meeting is held to choose the correct person to rule that country. But this doesn't only happens between Kings or Queens it also happens between minister of that country.
2.I put Ramo out of my mind as I searched the rocks for mussels. I thought of the food we need to gather and how best to protect it from the wild dogs when we were not in the village .
Connector: If you are stranded in an island with a person you know-(siblings,relative, parents)-of course the first you would think is how and where to get the little food you could get. Then later after a long hard work of finding and getting the of course sharing is done but before that you should first hide the food so that you could eat it for the next day or just to save it from animals or people in that island.
3.All night I sat there with the body of my brother and did not sleep. vowed that someday I would go back and kill the wild dogs in the cave. I would kill all of them.
Connector: They part of the story gives us a true meaning of the relationships between siblings. Karana vows upon the dead body of her brother to seek revenge on her brother' s death as compare to nowdays people do take revenge on throwing to jail or like in movies killing their loved ones murderer.
