WELL DONE

The shots above are selected because they best illustrate the purpose of the type of shots and camera angles. Can you figure out which type of shot or camera angle is used for each of the photographs?

A lesson to be learnt by Murshid
“ Murshid, it’s lunchtime!”
Just another typical day, jolted out of bed by mother's routine incessant nagging about lunch. I dragged my feet to the kitchen and washed my face. My father was watching television. He was watching a programme on Animal Planet and it was on crocodiles. Memories of that faithful day flooded through my mind.
All the Secondary One students in my school were excited. It was a school excursion and we were going to the Zoological Gardens. I too was excited as it was a good alternative to monotonous lessons in school. The school bus was buzzing with activity. Anticipation fills the air. Everyone on the bus was in high spirits. I was listening to my MP3 player - it was going to be a good day.
A man in his mid-twenties was standing at the reception to welcome us. He was our guide for the day. He told us that our first stop was at the crocodile enclosure. We went in the enclosure and we saw a lake. Inside, there was an 8-feet long crocodile staring at us. As we were going to our next stop, Zac and Corbin decided to do a dare. They sat on the fence of the crocodile’s lake. Suddenly, the crocodile leaped and caught hold of Zac’s leg. Zac was terrified. I was mortified with fear. Quickly, Corbin rushed towards the guide who quickly told the zookeeper nearby.
The zookeepers pounced on the crocodile and wrestled to open its mouth. They managed to pull Zac out of its mouth. The paramedics checked Zac. However, they shook their heads sadly. Zac was dead.
‘How are Zac’s parents going to take it?’ my mind questioned. The paramedics took Zac away and sent him to the hospital for post mortem. Everyone was in shock, especially Corbin. He had never expected things to turn out that way. He had to be comforted by the teachers.
The next day, the whole school had learned about Zac’s tragedy. On the day of his burial, the whole school observed one minute of silence. We still talk about Zac and his tragic death sometimes. Memories of him will forever be etched in our hearts.
“ Murshid, stop daydreaming and eat!” my mother shouted at me. I was brought back to reality.

Whenever I looked at the scar left on my foot, memories of the incident would plague my mind.
It was a hot and stuffy afternoon. May and I were perspiring like wet sponges.
I looked at the signboard and cried out to May, ”Hey! May! Look, we’re going to reach the rafting centre!’’
I beamed from ear to ear pleased with my quick observation.
'It still seems so far away! I'm tired, let's take a break,' May grouchily lamented and sat down before I could respond.
I suppose it was alright since the rafting centre is just about a kilometre away, I thought to myself.
The water was azure and clear. May suggested swimming in the river. Since it was a blazing hot day, I agreed. I’ve never told anyone I had a phobia for water. It all started 3 years ago during the summer camp. While rafting, Pete‘ve pushed me into the water. I was so horrified that I screamed in horror even I‘ve reached shore! The minute my feet touched the water, I regretted agreeing to May’s suggestion.
I was twitching nervously. My legs were wobbly. However, I didn’t want to be a wet blanket. I mustered up every ounce of courage within me and stepped into the water. Sensing my uneasiness, May held my hands and led me into the water.
Everything seemed to be working out perfectly until I spotted something moving in the water. Goosebumps immediately crept on me! I tugged at May's hand, trying to alert her. She thought I was backing out and ignored me.
All of a sudden, something emerged from the water. To my utter disbelief, it was a crocodile! Everything happened so quickly, I wasn't sure if I tried to hit it first or did it attack me first. When I regained my composure, it had already sunk its teeth into my foot. I was in so much pain, I screamed so loudly. I was sure my penetrating scream had broken the tranquility of the atmosphere.
I took the log beside me and tried hitting it! I screamed at the top of my voice for May. My heart was thudding like a jackhammer! Hearing my shriek, immediately, May went to look for a weapon.
With a big log in her hands, May started hitting in infuriation at the crocodile. To help myself, I tried frantically to pull myself back onto the river bank. I knew it was a moment between life and death. There was no time to think. I knew May’s efforts were in vain. I was as helpless as a kitten.
‘’Bang!’’ a loud shot reverberated through the air. By now, blood was oozing out of my leg like rivulets. To my utter dismay, the crocodile was shot! I was terrified as I stood rooted at the river bank in mixed horror and confusion. The orang asli had shot it. May and I immediately poured out our gratitude towards him. He told us that this place was a popular spot for crocodiles.
He treated my wound and send us packing immediately. He did not have to chase us for I was eager to leave. I was lucky to be alive. I will never put my life at risk again.
